How to Book the SGR to Meat Village Suswa

To book your ticket, visit the official SGR booking website or any SGR station and select the Suswa Train. Note that the trains only run on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 

Keep in mind that trains tend to fill up quickly, so booking a few days in advance is recommended.

Tickets are quite affordable, with a round trip costing just 500 Ksh in economy class.

The train ride itself is an experience, passing through three remarkable tunnels, including the 4.5 km Embulbul tunnel, one of the longest in Africa.

As the train traverses the stunning Great Rift Valley, you’ll be treated to views of the expansive Maasai plains, scattered settlements, and occasional glimpses of wildlife

The Meat Village is famous for its nyama choma, especially its half-kilo portions of Mbuzi (goat meat) that cost just 450 Ksh.

Pair this with a serving of ugali for 100 Ksh and a soda for another 100 Ksh, and you have a hearty, satisfying meal for less than 700 Ksh.

The Meat Village Suswa offers more than just food. It’s a great spot for small gatherings like baby showers and birthdays, and there are games and activities available at no extra charge.

However, it’s important to note that there is no accommodation available on-site, so plan to return the same day
